- Replacing your carriage is easy
- Unplug your Genie screw drive opener for safety before beginning. Now to replace your carriage, detach the door arm from the existing worn out carriage with the door in the closed postion. Loosen the nuts to the bolts on the screw drive rail at the front header bracket remove the bolts and slide the rail off to one side, giving ample room for the worn Genie carriage to be carefully slide out of the front of the screw drive rail. Reverse the procedure by simply sliding the new carriage onto the rail and then reinstall the bolts on the rail at the rail and tighten the nuts. Reattach the door arm and engage the new carriage. Adjust limits, if necessary.
- Reminder
- Your Genie screw drive opener should be greased every couple of years, using a Low Temp brands of Lubriplate or white grease. We recommend the Genie Crew Drive lubricant. Any other lubricant can cause the door to lock-up in cold weather.
