Technical: This white garage door top and side seal arrives to you damage free conveniently rolled up in a continuous large roll in the length you ordered and you cut to fit your garage door jambs perfectly. Easily installs on straight, gothic or arched garage door openings. This method makes it easy to install without any splicing allowing for a perfect installation every time. Also if you are ordering for a commercial facility you can order a complete roll of 150' and pull it out of the box as you need it and store the rest for later use. This weather seal can but cut easily using a fine tooth hand saw or circular saw with a fine blade. You choose you fastening method. We typically nail up with an exterior grade finish nail or a small exterior wood screw. You can use your finish nail gun for fast quick and easy installations. Installing new weather seals around your garage door helps keep out bugs, small rodents, dust, dirt, water and snow. If you are heating or air conditioning your garage this is a great way to save energy. We recommend these tips when installing new weather seal. Always make sure your weather seal is at least 60 degrees in temperature. This can be done in the winter by simply bringing the product indoors for 24 hours. We have heard many people are pre-drilling the seal in 6" increments to give your seal a true professionally installed look. I like to use two people when installing the overhead seal as it is easier to handle and can be a little tricky nailing or screwing overhead while trying to hold the seal in the proper place. We recommend using screws (not included) whenever possible this gives you the ability to adjust and position the seal as needed. For the best and tightest seal we suggest you place your fasteners no more than 6" apart and place a small bead of caulk on the backside of the seal before installing (Note a small amount is all you need, because too much will cause the seal to not lay flat). You can also caulk the edge as an alternative to help keep the seal from leaking on a jamb that is not flat. Always order an extra foot or two over what you actually need, since this gives you some flexibility if you make a small cutting mistake. Fasteners not included.
