How do I return an item?
We make every attempt to assure all customers are satisfied. Please always double check for the correct make and model on your garage door opener prior to ordering and be sure to select the right part for your garage door or opener. If you are not sure which part to select for your model, please Contact Us via email with your question. We will try and help you to ensure that you are getting the correct part you need.
Please note that we are not responsible for your selection and purchase of the wrong item(s). ALL sales are final on the following items (no exceptions): (1) Extension, Torsion & Torquemaster springs (2) Logic, sequencer and circuit boards (3) Door jamb weather & Bottom seal (4) Tools (5) All electrical & electronic parts(6) Belts & Cables (none of these parts are returnable or exchangeable). Star Door Parts will refund, return or exchange items provided the Customer meets all terms and conditions stated as outlined in our policy below.
All items except extension, torsion and torquemaster springs, logic/sequencer/circuit boards, door jamb weather and bottom seal, tools, all electrical and electronic parts, and belts and cables can be exchanged for any reason within 30 days from the date of purchase (less shipping and handling) unless otherwise noted on the actual products page. If you wish to exchange an item please Contact Us to request a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number. NO exchanges will be accepted after 30 days and/or without contacting us for an RMA number. You must pay to ship the item back to us. Items returned for exchange must be received by us in original and resalable condition with all original parts and packing (including batteries, instructions, connectors, screws, etc.). Definition of new, unaltered and unused condition is that the part will show no signs of wear or damage in any way. We will not ship out product for exchange until we have received the products which need to be replaced or exchanged. You must enclose a copy of the original invoice and write the RMA number on your shipping label. We suggest you use a shipper with tracking capabilities (FedEx, UPS or USPS Priority Mail). The shipping cost for return of the item(s) is at the customer's expense unless the return is the result of our error. Depending upon the weight of the item, additional shipping charges to ship another item back to you may be required. We will let you know when you contact us for your RMA number. Items returned damaged or with parts missing will not be exchanged and no refund will be issued. Returns can NOT be a special order item or a custom order. Returns for Refund
If you ordered the wrong part and we don't have the part you need or you just decide you don't want the part you ordered you can return it for a refund within 30 days of the purchase date. Returns can NOT be a special order item or a custom order. A refund (less shipping and handling charges and a restock fee of 25%) will be made by the method you originally used to make your purchase within 5 business days of us receiving the merchandise at our facility. For items with "free shipping" the amount of our shipping cost will be deducted from the refund. Shipping cost for return of the item is at the purchasers' expense. We suggest you use a shipper with tracking capabilities. Items returned damaged or with parts missing will not be refunded. Also, parts from our "clearance" section, marked as "exchange only" or "all sales final" on the products pages will not be refunded.
All of the products that we sell are new and unused and are not refurbished or factory defects. All parts come with the full manufacturer warranty. Sometimes parts can be defective from the manufacturer. Upon delivery of your order please inspect it thoroughly for damage and fulfillment accuracy. If there is a claim for damaged product, incorrect product, or shortages, please Contact Us within 10 days of delivery to inform us of the defective product or other issue so that we may ship you a replacement. We will inform you at that time how to send the defective part back to us.
We make every attempt to ship all orders within 24 hours to get your parts to you as quickly as possible. If for whatever reason you determine that you need to cancel your order, please Contact Us immediately to determine if your order has shipped. If you order has not shipped, we will cancel your order. All canceled orders will be charged a 15% cancellation fee. However, if your order has already shipped, your order will be treated as a return or exchange as outlined in our policy above.
We will not ship out product for exchange until we have received the products which need to be replaced or exchanged. Remember that all returns must have an RMA number from us prior to returning the product to us. Please note that all original materials (parts, packaging, instructions, batteries, etc.) must be returned in order to receive full credit (less the restocking fee).
