How to Order
Here is what
you need to know - (1) door height, (2) door width and (3) balance weight of your door. Sometimes the weight appears as WT (see photo example below). Typically, for a single doors 7' - 10'
wide, the weight will be between 55-150 pounds and for double doors
15'-18' wide the weight will be between 125-250 pounds.
You will also need to determine if you need a single our double spring - please refer to the section and photos below to assist in determining which spring system you need. All information must be completed in the options area in order to process and prevent delays.
The Torquemaster springs you will receive
will not always match your old springs length due to the switch from an
oil tempered spring to a new high tensile strength music wire spring.
In many cases the spring will be considerably shorter and in a few cases
slightly larger. That it is why it is very important for you to fill in
all the fields on the order for to assure you receive the proper
springs for your door.
Original or Plus Spring?
is very important to match the winding end of your spring up to the
photo of the product above. Note the end of the Plus model is hexagon-shaped which is this model. Typically this spring will be found on doors manufactured after February 2007.
If you have an end that is rounded and has external splines (this
winding end may be made up of metal (as shown on the Original spring
page - use link below) and can also be of molded plastic (white, black
or clear)) you need to order the Original Torquemaster model. Click here to order the Torquemaster Original spring.
Single or Double Spring System?
Please use the photos below to determine if you have a single or double spring system. If you are unsure, please contact us.
We always recommend replacing springs in pairs (where applicable) due to spring having equal cycle life and the opposite spring will most likely also fail soon leaving your door inoperable again and costing you additional money and freight.
If for some reason
any of this information is missing we recommend sending us an e-mail
using the Contact Us tab. Please include your garage door width, height,

place your order.

Each Torquemaster spring comes with winding and stationary ends already installed and a protective plastic sleeve. We do not sell
replacement tubes due to the extreme length. If you have difficulty removing your broken spring from the tube you can use a series of wooden dowel (purchased at any hardware store) and a hammer to drive out old spring parts that may be lodged in the tube. Make sure the wooden dowels are as close to the inner diameter of the spring tube size as possible.
Torquemaster springs can only be shipped FedEx ground.
